Good Bones, Thoughtfully Reimagined
Welcome to The Peachtree Retreat; a home rooted in character and redefined for the future.
The Power of Good Bones
Some homes don’t need a complete overhaul, they simply need the right vision. And that is certainly the case for The Peachtree Retreat.
When this local client purchased the property, it was dated, but it had what every designer looks for: great bones. Underneath the antiquated carpeting and lighting, the home still boasted a strong structure, thoughtful proportions, and plenty of original charm worth preserving. When the client engaged us to breathe new life into the house, our goal wasn’t to erase its character, but to enhance it. Our designers wanted to thoughtfully interweave fresh materials and leverage smart planning, to both support how the family lives now and into the future as well as give it a much needed facelift.
Originally a 5-bedroom, 1.5-bath home, we reimagined the layout to better maximize space and function. A bedroom was thoughtfully relocated to the lookout basement, allowing us to add a full bathroom, while expanding the existing half bath into a full one on the main level. These strategic changes transformed the home into a 5-bedroom, 3-bath residence without compromising its original soul.
By opening walls and reworking the kitchen, we created better flow, natural light, and gathering spaces, turning an outdated layout into a home designed for longevity. This is the beauty of good bones: knowing what to keep, what to elevate, and where thoughtful changes can make the biggest impact. See below for a few after pictures of the completed project!
